Processing Technician / Labourer - Saskatoon - APPLY NOW

Position & Scope

The Processing Technician / Laborer at Protex Environmental is responsible for the various daily processing activities that occur at our facilities. This position is vital to the recycling operations at the site, and also contributes to other lines of business through deliveries, services, and customer interactions.

Key Accountabilities

Under general supervision and as part of a team, perform the following:

  • Operate equipment to load/unload recycling machinery for various materials
  • Remove non-recyclable materials from recycling stream and bale recycling for transport
  • Keep all areas of the yard and facility clean and well maintained
  • Coordinate the removal of collected recyclables
  • Complete documentation properly and ensure it is submitted
  • Assist customers on site in unloading and documenting materials dropped off
  • Container maintenance, equipment maintenance, buildings and facilities work
  • Other duties as assigned by the management team

Requirements

  • No experience necessary
  • Must be physically fit
  • Must have steel toed safety boots
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Safety conscious
  • Mechanical aptitude/maintenance experience an asset
  • Motivated and productive
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00-$20.00 per hour

Recovery Technician - Saskatoon - APPLY NOW!

Protex Environmental is Saskatchewan's largest locally owned Used Oil and Automotive Fluid Products collection service provider, and we are growing! 

We seek an energetic individual who seeks more than a typical truck driving role. Our Recovery Technicians engage with customers daily on collection routes, actively reaching out to new customers in the region. Serving as the face of our company, they play a pivotal role in our remarkable growth!

Position & Scope:

The Recovery Technician will be responsible for operating our class 3A, (and potentially 1A) collection units for used oil collection across Saskatchewan. The Recovery Technician will require a high level of professionalism and customer service to consistently build positive customer relationships and to promote Protex Environmental's service throughout our great province!  

Key Accountabilities

  • Follow schedules and service orders in accordance with the Service Coordinators instructions
  • Provide exceptional on-site service to customers and continuously promote Protex's service offerings
  • Complete service paperwork in accordance with Protex and TDG regulations
  • Safely operate all required transport equipment & ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of truck cab, components, and other assigned equipment
  • Participate in the Protex safety programs including: safety meetings, last minute risk assessments, and job hazard assessments.

Requirements

  • Clean drivers abstract Class 3A is required, Class 1A considered an asset
  • Able to work independently
  • Customer service experience
  • TDG knowledge and experience
  • Self-motivated attitude
  • Experience working in a safety sensitive environment
  • Ability to work out of town and overnight trips up to three days at a time

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Vacuum Truck Operator - Saskatoon - APPLY NOW

Position & Scope

The Vacuum / Hydrovac Truck Operator position is responsible to perform a very diverse range of activities within our company including: car wash interceptor pit cleaning, sewage loading and hauling, hydro-excavating, hazardous waste loading and hauling, confined space entry, and hazardous materials spill clean up. The position may also include used oil materials recovery, equipment maintenance, buildings and facilities work, and other duties as assigned. The Operator will require a high level of professionalism and customer service, which will be used to consistently build positive customer relationships and to promote Protex Environmental's service throughout Saskatchewan.

Journeyman Mechanic - Meadow Lake - APPLY NOW

Position & Scope

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance and repair of a wide variety of equipment, both mobile and stationary
  • Hands on troubleshooting, repair, adjustment, overhaul, and maintenance of trucks and heavy equipment used in waste hauling, earth moving operations, and commercial trash compaction equipment and balers
  • Dealing with breakdowns in the shop, on the road, at the landfill, and at customer sites
  • Adherence to company, and customer, site safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

  • Heavy Equipment, Truck and Transport Technician, or Industrial Mechanics, some experience with truck and trailer an asset
  • Experience in electronic and pneumatic control systems, diagnostics on control systems hardware and software problems is an asset
  • Minimum valid Class 5 drivers license with acceptable abstract required As a condition of employment.
  • Able to work both in a team environment and unsupervised 
  • Good communication skills
  • Own Tools/Equipment
  • Steel-toed safety boots
